Thorn of the Gods: The Rise of the Ina Era

Before the Ina Era, before the bargains burned, Egun was a child found beside the Ìwóló River, cradled by thorns that refused to wound him.

Raised in Abúlé Ìwóló, he grows up believing cleverness can make the world fair. But across Ọ̀yọ́, roads forget their destinations, messages return undelivered, oaths become dangerous, and war spreads beneath the language of balance.

At sixteen, Egun learns why: the divine office of Èṣù has stood vacant since its guardian was murdered — and the broken crossroads are opening inside him.

To save a realm sliding toward collapse, he must find the killer and answer a blood-debt written into the office itself. The evidence points toward Ṣàngó, king of thunder. But in a world where wind can move a voice, iron can force a path, and truth can be arranged like a trap, certainty may cost more than doubt.

Thorn of the Gods is a dark fantasy of gods, bargains, grief, power, and consequence, rooted in a fictional reinterpretation of Yorùbá cosmological imagination.
